Coca-Cola is paired with tacos in subtle outdoor ads
Uncommon Stockholm’s first piece of work for the brand positions Coca-Cola as the perfect partner to tacos no matter where you are in the world
Coca-Cola’s new campaign in Norway hopes to bring a taste of Mexico back to Scandinavia. The campaign features images taken by street photographer Frederik Trovatten around Mexico City, where he lived for several years.
The naturalistic photos of taco stalls – or taquerias – are all black and white except for the subtle splash of red highlighting the crates of Coca-Cola stacked alongside the stalls.
The suggestion that tacos and Coca-Cola are a tried-and-tested pairing is driven home by the tagline ‘Where there are tacos, there’s Coca-Cola’.

The logo placement is already surprisingly pared-back, not to mention the fact that some of the crates in the images are upside-down or partially concealed, showing a refereshing level of leniency from a global brand.
“Coca-Cola’s iconicity gave us the freedom to focus on authentic moments in the taquerias, where its presence feels natural and unforced,” the agency tells CR. “The strength of the brand made it easy to let those moments shine without needing to emphasise the logo, and the Coca-Cola team fully embraced this approach from the start.”
The campaign is being rolled out across outdoor locations in Oslo, including in its main train station.
